In 1998 Red Dwarf celebrated their 10th Anniversary, though it was of course stylised as "Xth Anniversary" because Grant Naylor just can't get enough of Roman numerals. The anniversary was celebrated in numerous ways, from special merchandise to a whole night of Red Dwarf themed TV programmes on the BBC, but the most anticipated celebratory event was the re-released "Remastered" VHS boxset of Red Dwarf series I - III. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and we all know how well the remastered series went down at the time, however that just makes this particular exhibit all the more interesting. Here is an original 1998 BBC Worldwide press release pack, produced and distributed by Grant Naylor Productions and the BBC for providing information on the then upcoming remastered collection. Approximately thirty were created for various news outlets and media types, and handed out at an exclusive press-screening of a remastered episode in London. Included in the pack are the details of the six remastered VHS cassettes, a synopsis of Red Dwarf, trivia on the show, biographies (CVs) for Doug Naylor, Ed Bye and Robert Llewellyn the three presenters at the event, an advert for series VII Xtended, artwork for two of the remastered VHS cases, and the concept art for the spine mural design.
