Tongue Tied 12" Vinyl

In 1993 a whole range of The Cat Tongue Tied merchandise became available, and this 12 inch vinyl record was one such item. One of only two Red Dwarf related vinyls, this is a pretty bizarre piece, made only more bizarre due to the strange Tongue Tied mixes it contains.
First we have the Meeow Mix, which isn't really a mix at all as much as a totally new instrumental focused track with the more unintelligable lyrics of Tongue Tied sprinkled over the top. It is a nice relaxing tune, SMOOooth with a capital SMOO. Next up is the Tabby Ranks Mix. Who is Tabby Ranks you ask? He's like a cross between Shabba, Supercat, Buju, Tiger and Ninja Man. In short, he is another alter-ego of Danny John-Jules, created for the Tongue Tied pop-video VHS release. Yes, this really was a whole big thing stretching across numerous media formats.
The Tabby Ranks Mix is more like the Tongue Tied we know and love, only with Danny John-Jules' dulcet tones replaced with a heavily distorted synthesised robo-voice. And I'm not talking a bluesy Hudzen-10 style robo-voice, I'm talking a Short Circuit style robo-voice. Lastly we have the Kateoke Mix, featuring only the music and the backing vocal from the Tabby Ranks Mix, allowing you and your friends to gather together and do your best WALL-E impressions.
