Aigburth Arms Beer Mat

Now this particular exhibit is a bit of a head scratcher. It is a real 21st century beer mat, from the fictional 22nd century Liverpudlian pub the Aigburth Arms, that is based on a real 20th century Liverpudlian pub the Aigburth Arms, but which didn't actually exist for a little over a decade early 21st century Liverpool because it was called something else, although now it does exist again because it is once again called the Aigburth Arms, but to be absolutely clear this really isn't a real beer mat from the 21st century Liverpudlian pub the Aigburth Arms- it just says it is from the Aigburth Arms because it is pretending to be a beer mat from the 22nd century Liverpudlian pub the Aigburth Arms... although it is a real beer mat, just not one from any real actual Liverpudlian pub, past present or future, called the Aigburth Arms. Though that is written on it. Get it? Got it. Good.

So the real question is, why is this real beer mat pretending to be a beer mat from the fictional 22nd century Liverpudlian pub the Aigburth Arms, that is based on the real 20th century Liverpudlian pub the Aigburth Arms, which now exists once again in the 21st Century? And that question has, in fact, TWO answers.
A)
legend has it that in 1983, the earliest premise and conception of Red Dwarf was originally scrawled on the back of a real beer mat in the 20th century Liverpudlian pub the Aigburth Arms, by an incredibly drunk Doug Naylor and Rob Grant. And,
B) Dave Lister left his 6 week old son, Dave Lister, in a box under a grav-pool table in the 22nd century Liverpudlian pub the Aigburth Arms, in the year 2155.

But this isn't the only time that Pool God "Cinzano Bianco" Lister has met himself in the Aigburth Arms, as the Aigburth Arms is also notable for being the location in Timeslides where The Boys bump into 17 year old Lister and his band, Smeg and the Heads, to hear that totally shady track OMMMMMMMM!!

Anyone fancy a pint?
