Craig Charles himself wrote The Log in 1997, and recorded this audiobook release in the same year, after all, who could do a better job at narrating Lister's writings and musings than the man himself! The Log is an in-universe Lister's perspective on his life and greater humanity. The book details both his own most-loved and least-loved things in existence, as well as the human races most famous and infamous accomplishments. It is simultaneously funny, and deeply melancholy. You really get the impression of him as the last human being, writing all he knows about his once great species in a nostalgic effort to rekindle his humanity, to feel a part of his roots, to forget his loneliness and the hopelessness of his situation. Still, you've got to laugh, haven't you?
