Released 30.10.1995, Log No. 1996 was a Red Dwarf journal and diary for the year 1996. Here's the twist though, many of the days were already written in. The Boys from the Dwarf were under Space Corps Directive orders to make entries detailing their thoughts and insights during the voyage, and this was the result. Exactly why it was decided that filling out log number 1996 was a necessity given that the ship was three million years from Earth and the human race was extinct is anyone's guess, but I suppose it must help keep a slender grip on reality better than relying on a friendship with a collection of singing potatoes.
