Stasis Leaked Complete is the unofficial behind the scenes guide to Red Dwarf. Written by Jane Killick, the main feature writer for the Red Dwarf Smegazine, spent many years with the production team, conducting interviews with cast and crew, and this is her opus dae. The interviews are joined by episode summaries, conceptual design and production, special effects, cut episodes and scenes, the US pilots, and also the ill-fated Red Dwarf Movie. It is heavy on the text, but therefore heavy on the info, so a must-read for fans of the Dwarf.
Incidentally, and sorry for high-jacking this items page but it is semi-related with the movie talk, but in roughly 2002 or 2003 I (as in, the Curator of this online museum) actually managed to read a version of the script for one of the many movie iterations. Someone I knew at the time was related to a movie producer, and Doug was looking for funding so the script worked its way into their hands. I was pretty young at the time and didn't fully appreciate what I had managed to get my hands on, so I sadly don't remember very much about what I read. I assume enough time has past now to allow me to talk about it without spoiling anything or upsetting anyone, especially as The Promised Land used the main plot elements I can remember anyway... Essentially, the boys found a Cat planet, got captured by the tyrannical Cat leader, and at some point, somehow, Rimmer got trapped in a washing machine on spin-cycle. That's it. That is all I remember. I know. I 'm sorry. Now, in the words of another prat- I'm going out for a walk, I may be some time.
