Futera Platinum Trading Cards
The Futera Platinum trading cards are possibly the rarest (depending on the set / card) and most revered Red Dwarf collectors items that have ever been made available for purchase. Released in 2002, there are a total of 133 cards according to the checklist, however once you factor in the alternate lucky-dip selections as well as the special cards, there are actually 155 unique trading cards to collect.Well, technically there are 225 unique cards to collect, as there is an alternate "parallel" version of the full base set on a gold chrome card backing, and an alternate autograph set to go with the Blue Midget Edition Leather Album. Why does everything Red Dwarf have to be so confusing??
While there is arguably a fairly comprehensive, and certainly a very expansive, collection of Red Dwarf exhibits in this online museum, the Curator can by no means claim total ownership of all Red Dwarf memorabilia and merchandise... particularly when it comes to the trading cards. It is with great sadness therefore, that the following list of cards and trading card related merchandise that are missing from this collection must be given:
DC1 Dealer card 50 made
GR1 Gold Redemption Card
Gold Plated Starbug Card (redeemed with gold redemption card) and associated Certificate Card 100 made
Blue Midget Album alt autograph cards AP1 to AP7 set
Emohawk Feather Monsters card (alt MEM05)
Psiren Skin Monsters card (alt MEM05)
JMC Cigarettes memorabilia (alt MEM07)
Mr Flibble Lucky dip card (alt MEM10) [only ONE created]
Red Dwarf ship piece Lucky Dip card (alt MEM10) [only FOUR created]
